Summary Media Sprint April 2012 in Gothenburg

Last weekend we had a successful code sprint for the Media Initiative in Gothenburg where we managed to do great progress in solving the alt/title attribute issues as well as a lot more. Read on for a summary report on what we accomplished.

Does your Drupal 7 .htaccess Redirect Correct?

The .htaccess file that comes with Drupal 7 was changed from the one in Drupal 6. Thomas discovered that it has resulted in an unwanted side-effect. Luckily it can be fixed easily. Read on to find out how.

The first official "unofficial" Media Initiative meeting and Office Hours last Thursday was an amazing success with over 60 engaging Drupalers showing up. Prevent Drupal from Mistakenly Deleting Files with File Lock

Drupal Core will automatically delete files when it thinks they are no longer used. This can cause all sort of problems for sites and users, as well as be hard to tack down unless you know about it. The File Lock module is currently the best solution for preventing this and give your site users and administrators piece of mind.

Media Sprint Day 1 Summary

The first day of the Media Sprint was a great success. Even if the team didn't manage to get Media 1.0-RC1 out, it went very close and it will for sure be out today on day 2. There are still plenty of things to do and now is the time to join us and make them happen.

Media Module Needs a Full Release for Drupal 7

The Media module desperately needs a full release for Drupal 7. Only then can we have the killer features it will make possible. In this post I am going over its current state and how useful it is right now. Please read and start helping this promising project get to a badly needed full release.

The post also includes a bonus tip on how you can organize your uploaded files in folders. At least until its supported by the Media module itself or an addon module.
