Help with Drupal Mill

There will be many ways you can help with moving Drupal Mill forward. In the beginning the lion share of roles will not be very time consuming and can be done by a handful of people. As content and traffic grows there will be a need for delegating roles and tasks.

In the list below focus is on the roles that are most needed now. As the site grows, new roles and definitions will be added.

This list is not set in stone and can very well change at any time.

Drupal Mill will have four main role categories:

  • Content Contributors
  • Moderators
  • Administrators
  • Site Builders

Content Contributors

These are roles that are working with the content pages and they are:

  • Editor
  • Writer
  • Blogger
  • Proofreader
  • Translator

Editor

The Editor will be responsible for managing content on one or several sections within the site, handing out writing assignments and publishing finished content.

Writer

A writer produces content such as articles, reviews, guides, tutorials, interviews and so on.

Writers will both get writing assignments or have a more free role producing articles within their own specialities.

At the moment there are no content types ready for being able to start producing articles, but if you are interested in writing for us don't wait until they are ready. See the contact page for more info on how to apply.

Blogger

A blogger has his/hers own personal blog on Drupal Mill where they can write about their own experience with Drupal as well as opinions about anything related to it.

The purpose with the blogs are to privde a space to write on a more personal level about things that is outside the scope of the other content types.

This role is available now, see the contact page for more info on how to apply.

Proofreader

A proofreader will go over new, updated or translated content produced by writers, make adjustments as well as give instructions to writers about bigger needed changes before it goes to the editor for publishing.

Translator

A translator will translate existing content into new languages. English will be the default language all articles are first published in and translated from. Thus you need to be able to translate from English to another language.

What languages that will be supported in the future is not decided, but Spanish, German and French are good candidates to start with.

Moderators

Moderators will moderate the discussion forums as well as comments. This will especially be needed when new languages are supported.

Administrators

Administrators will be responsible for keeping the site up, tuning it and so on.

Site Builders

Drupal Mill will need a lot of skilled people to help building the features as well as creating the look and feel of the site.

Some of the roles/skills that are needed are:

  • Graphic artists
  • Themers
  • Click monkeys to help creating new features
  • Module developers
